CHARACTER ABILITIES ABILITY CHECK AND DIFFICULTY CLASSES

Every character has capabilities defined by six ability scores, ability scores are your character's primary statistics and pretty much determine how good they are at doing anything, these stats consist of strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma.

Each of a creature's abilities has a score, a number that defines the magnitude of that ability. each ability score number has an associated "modifier" attached to it, derived from the score and ranging from -5 (for an ability score of 1) to +5 (for a score of 20).

The higher above "10" the score is then the higher modifier will be, giving you a better bonus whenever you try to do something related to that ability "activities/chores/combat...etc".

SCRIPT SHOP ABILITY MANAGER HUD

Ability manager hud is used to enhance/increase/decrease abilities using the available and level-up earned points.

players earn 2 free points when they create their characters.

  • raising abilities consumes (2 points) - you need +2 points to raise an ability.
  • lowering abilities gives (1 point) - you free +1 point by lowering an ability.

So you need to use the abilities' manager wisely to not lose your points.

An ability check tests a character's innate talent and training to overcome a challenge. For every ability check, the system decides which of the six abilities is "relevant to the task" at hand and the difficulty of the task, represented by a "Difficulty Class".

Difficulty Classes [DC] represents the difficulty "very easy to nearly impossible" of any given skill check; It is a number you have to match or beat for your skill check to succeed. Anything you do uses one or more of your abilities, and DC checks if you can or have the skills to do a specific task or thing.
